Male rapists hanged in Iran

Three Iranian men have been sentenced to hang for raping a 17-year-old boy, who reportedly committed suicide after the event.

The Fars news agency has reported the men were convicted of kidnapping the youth from the central city of Isfahan, before taking him away to commit the rape.

While no date has been given for the executions, the latest sentence will see the number of people executed in Iran this year rise to nearly 260.

Murder, rape, armed robbery, drug trafficking and adultery are all punishable by death in Iran.
