Illness weakens Myanmar opposition leader
Toronto News.Net Sunday 10th May, 2009
Serious concerns about the health of Myanmar’s imprisoned party leader Aung San Suu Kyi have begun to arise.
The opposition National League for Democracy has told reporters the 63-year-old opposition leader is suffering from low blood pressure and dehydration and has stopped eating.
Government authorities have stopped visits to her house by doctors, who were assisting her.
On Friday Ms Suu Kyi was put on an intravenous drip, after which her physician was arrested.
The opposition has called on Myanmar's military rulers to allow her to receive medical attention.
Ms Suu Kyi, who won elections in 1990, has been under house arrest since then.
The military regime in the former Burma has refused to hand her political power. Email this story to a friend

Illness weakens Myanmar opposition leader
Burma’s 63 years old detained opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi is suffering from low blood pressure and dehydration. We guess the Taiwan’s President Ma Ying-jeou and Taiwan’s TSU CHI can negotiate with the Myanmar’s militray government to exile Aung San Suu Kyi out of Burma to live in Taiwan; Suu Kyi can stay with TZU CHI hospital to recover her poor health. The 3rd party’s Taiwan’s President Ma Ying-jeou linked with TSU CHI should have no problem to assist Burma’s Aung San Suu Kyi to exile from Burma to Taiwan for poor health reason.
