Sanyo to let people go

Japanese electronics giant Sanyo intends slashing 1,000 jobs.

It has been announced that Sanyo will cut the staff because it has lost money in its semiconductor division.

Sanyo was recently bought by fellow electronics giant Panasonic for more than $12 billion in a bid to get through the global economic crisis.
